BSC Empire Notes

First, I just wanted to alert the few folks who may read this blog and not BSC that the signed/limited Jeffrey Jones print of George R.R. Martin’s A Game of Thrones I talked about before here, is now up for grabs at BSC. It’s open to anyone who follows BSC on twitter or is a Facebook Friend. That’s pretty much the way it’s going to be in regards to contests from now on (including the one I just put up for 2 chances at SyFy’s Caprica DVD). Don’t want to win, don’t do either. It’s all good.
Spider-Man & the Secret Wars #1 review

I don’t do a ton of reviews anymore (though I’m prepping my Favorite Best Reads of 2009 list and can tell you that a comic tops the list), but over at BSCKids I jotted down some brief thoughts I had of Spider-Man & the Secret Wars #1. I was drawn to this project (check out the preview that I also posted over there–Marvel is the one of the Big II that actually promotes its titles) due to the story taking place in pockets around the the original (this would be Shooter, not Bendis!) Secret Wars, and I just had a load of fun reading it!
BSCkids is Live!
Just a moment to talk some “serious” business. We just launched a sister site of BSCreview called BSCkids. We are still putting it together, but we have a lot of content, both lined up and in the works. Our original thought for initiating Kids actually got sped up after conversations we had with high ups in high places always telling us that there was this void for the true younger market (i.e. not teen-Twilight).
